Modernists - Neste (plastics); Arabia (ceramics); Finlayson, Kaj Franck and Marimekko (clothing and textiles); Kalevala Kosu, Ateljee Torbjorn Tillander, and Lapponia (jewelry); Ittala and Nuntajarvi (glass); Kukkenpuro and Aalto (furniture). Timo Sarpanova (glass, ceramics, metal, textiles and wood) has won countless prizes. Fiskars (scissors, clippers) products are used worldwide.

Tappio Wirkkala was one of Finland's most extraordinary 20th century designer-craftsmen, although not well known outside Finland. On the other hand, Alvar and Aino Aalto have a world-wide fame as architects and designers of furniture and glassware.
